What is n8n and why not just use Zapier?

n8n is an open-source automation platform that you can self-host. Compared to Zapier: no per-task pricing, full data control, unlimited workflows, customisable code. For companies with data privacy requirements (GDPR), self-hosting is often the better choice.

Do I need to be able to code to use n8n?

No — n8n has a visual drag-and-drop interface. For complex logic, JavaScript knowledge is an advantage but not a requirement. In the workshop we show both approaches.

What is concretely built in the workshop?

We build real workflows with your systems: email triage, CRM synchronisation, invoice processing, or a workflow from your own use case. No demo setup — production-ready pipelines.

Can n8n also be connected to AI models like ChatGPT?

Yes — n8n has native integrations for OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google Gemini and other LLMs. We show how to embed AI into automation workflows.

What knowledge does the team need for the workshop?

No programming knowledge required. Basic understanding of web systems (APIs, webhooks) is helpful but is explained in the workshop. Ideal for ops teams, IT departments and technically savvy managers.
